New York State Police say a Waterloo man volunteered as a youth coach to entice young teenage boys back to his residence and then sexually abuse them. Investigators also say 37 year old Leslie Hoke volunteered at fire departments so he could meet younger or junior firefighters. After a lengthy investigation police have identified victims from Canandaigua, Geneva and the Waterloo area – along with past victims from the Prattsburg and Pultney area in Steuben County.
Meanwhile, Hoke was arrested yesterday and charged with criminal sex act in the first degree involving a 12 year old boy. Police say there are at least four other victims and possibly 12 to 15 more incidents they are still investigating. Authorities report that victims ages are from eight to 18 years old.
Police arrested a Wayne County woman for allegedly robbing a Town of Ontario gas station at gunpoint. State Troopers say 32 year old Shannon Huff left her 10 month old child home alone during the robbery when she entered the Kwik Fill gas station on Route 104 Tuesday morning and ordered the employee to empty the cash register. Police say Huff then fled the scene. Investigators report the store employee easily identified Huff as the robber because she was a regular customer. She’s now facing a number of charges and was remanded to jail in lieu of 20 thousand dollars bail.
