New York State Police say a Waterloo man volunteered as a youth coach to entice young teenage boys back to his residence and then sexually abuse them. Investigators also say 37 year old Leslie Hoke volunteered at fire departments so he could meet younger or junior firefighters. After a lengthy investigation police have identified victims from Canandaigua, Geneva and the Waterloo area – along with past victims from the Prattsburg and Pultney area in Steuben County.

Meanwhile, Hoke was arrested yesterday and charged with criminal sex act in the first degree involving a 12 year old boy. Police say there are at least four other victims and possibly 12 to 15 more incidents they are still investigating. Authorities report that victims ages are from eight to 18 years old.

Police arrested a Wayne County woman for allegedly robbing a Town of Ontario gas station at gunpoint. State Troopers say 32 year old Shannon Huff left her 10 month old child home alone during the robbery when she entered the Kwik Fill gas station on Route 104 Tuesday morning and ordered the employee to empty the cash register. Police say Huff then fled the scene. Investigators report the store employee easily identified Huff as the robber because she was a regular customer. She’s now facing a number of charges and was remanded to jail in lieu of 20 thousand dollars bail.

An elderly man was killed in a two car crash last night on Route 96 in Victor. New York State Police say 86 year old Joseph Carra of Mendon was a passenger in a car turning left onto County Route 42 when the car was hit by a southbound vehicle. Carra was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Meanwhile, Carra’s wife – who was driving the car – was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where she is listed in satisfactory condition. Police are continuing their investigation into the crash.

Testimony is under way in the trial of three men charged in connection with the alcohol-related death of a Cornell University student. Max Haskin, Benn Mann and Edward Williams are on trial in Ithaca on charges of hazing and unlawfully dealing with a child. The three former frat pledges all pled not guilty to the charges. George DesDunes was found unconscious at a frat house in February of last year. He was later pronounced dead. Authorities say his blood alcohol content was four times the legal limit at the time of his death.

It’s been almost six months since a violent double homicide in a Gates neighborhood and there are still no arrests. Lydia Bryant and Luis Davila were found dead in their home on November 30th. The couple’s 10 year old son discovered them when returning home from school. Both Davila and Bryant were shot. Investigators say the couple was probably targeted but there are still no arrests or updates in the case.

Meanwhile, a trio of suspects charged in more than a dozen robberies in the Gates area were initially considered persons of interest. They were questioned about the homicides, but have not been charged.

Authorities say a mailman found a Canandaigua man who suffered a severe head injury after a farming accident yesterday. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Joel Weaver was operating a tractor in a field near his home when was injured. Investigators believe he was fixing something on the back of the tractor while the power was still on. Officers on the scene report Weaver’s head was pinched inside the tractor by a hydraulic arm that rose, causing serious injuries.
